Church Organizations
From the time Fr. Luigi Donanzan stepped into the parish as assistant to Fr. Luigi Franchinotti, things began to happen, and they kept on happening until he left as pastor in 1947. Among his many achievements was the growth of church sponsored clubs and societies with the emphasis on the young.
These included the Altar Society, St. Lucy Sodality, St. Aloysius Society, Christian Mothers and Holy Rosary PTA. Each in its own way promoted Christian values and enriched the spiritual life of the parish.
Two other organizations had great impact on the parish during the later stages of the Depression. One of them was the Rosary Club, the other, Boy Scout Troop 70.
The Rosary Club, mostly Italian women from the parish, was asked to take over some of the functions of the Agnes Ward Amberg Club in 1926. Those were mainly the responsibilities of providing summer recreation and guidance for parish children.
